large long wave weather pattern
was over the eastern pacific and
western U.S. during the 15 day
period of late December 2004
through the first 10 days of
January 2005. Also a moist
southwest flow along with several
disturbances moved across
southern California during the 2
week period. Result...repeating
heavy rains...that
produced...damaging floods and
mudslides over the coastal and
valley areas...along with heavy
snows and high winds in the
mountains. |
