Laurel Canyon Mudslide

(Hollywood Hills - August 1983)

A section of a hillside in the Laurel Canyon area of the Hollywood Hills gave way Saturday prompting authorities to close a section of Laurel Canyon Drive between Mount Olympus and Mulholland Dr.

One home was "Red-Tagged" due to safety concerns.

With more rain in the forecast from early Monday morning through Wednesday morning...this will only add to the problem.

Dateline April 1st and 2nd, 1999 - Mount Laguna Mountains:
Heavy snow (18" in 12 hours). Eight fatalities reported due to Hypothermia.
