New Cuyuma Fire near containment

(Pre-dawn smoky skies - June 20th, 2006)

Firefighters made good progress Friday in their efforts in containing the 14,988 acre wildfire near New Cuyuma or apx. 45 miles east/northeast of Santa Maria.

The fire is 80% contained as of Friday evening.
