Increasing swells and risk of rip currents
A south swell generated from a storm in the southern hemisphere will produce swells 3 to 4 feet about every 19 seconds along the much of the coast the next couple of days.
The Los Angeles and Ventura County coastal waters will be most prone to the high swells.
With the higher than normal surf will come the high potential of rip currents.
Swimmers and surfers are strongly advised to remain onshore the next couple of days.
