Increasing chance of rain Tuesday
The "Cut Off" Low that has been teasing southern California with rain is finally going to move east/southeast Tuesday and Wednesday. This will result in an upswing of showers activity across the southland beginning late Tuesday morning and continue through at least early Wednesday morning...before diminishing.
Most locations across the southland will see amounts around 0.25"...but some favored mountain slopes and higher foothill communities may see amounts greater than 0.50"
Snow showers are likely above the 5,000 foot level over Ventura and L.A. counties with accumulations expected to be under 4".
Meanwhile... the snow level over the San Bernardino and Riverside county mountains will be around 5,500 feet with only light accumulations expected.
There is a small chance of thunderstorms over the coastal plain, valleys and coastal waters Tuesday and Tuesday night.
Thunderstorms will have the possibility of producing... locally gusty winds...brief heavy downpours...small hail and isolated waterspouts over the coastal waters.
