Wet storm on the way...
A moist storm system will bring moderate to occasional heavy rain to the southland Thursday through much of Friday morning...then begin to diminish during the afternoon.
Rainfall forecasts...
0.50 to 1.50"... coastal plain and valleys,
1.00 to 2.00"... foothills and mountains.
1.00 to 2.00"... foothills and mountains.
...A Flash Flood Watch may be needed for the 2005 an 2006 burn areas.
Cold, unstable air aloft will likely produce isolated thunderstorms...especially Thursday night and Friday morning.
Some of the storms may produce... small hail and isolated waterspouts over the coastal waters.
Significant snows are likely to fall over the mountains with accumulations reaching a foot or more by Friday afternoon.
A Winter Storm Watch in currently in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon for the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
