Finally!!! Rain

***Update: 4:38pm/pdt, Friday, April 20th, 2007***

Rain or rain showers will diminish from west to east across the southeastern portions of the southland through this evening.
Elsewhere... isolated to widely scattered showers through the evening hours.

Total Forecast rainfall amounts...
0.25 to 0.75" coastal plain and valleys/inland valleys.

0.75 to 1.50" in favored orographic enhanced areas of mountains.
0.10 to 0.20" high deserts
0.05 to 0.10" low deserts


Snow or snow showers will continue to fall through evening hours over the mountains of southern California.
This will effect driving conditions on the 5 Freeway through Grapevine.

Total snow accumulations may reach 3 to 8" over the mountains of Ventura/Los Angeles counties and over the mountais of the IE.

Snow Advisories are currently in effect for the mountains of Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, San Bernardino,Riverside, San Diego counties and the Santa Ana Mountains.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible across the southland. The highest potential of the storms will be over Orange, San Diego counties, The IE...and the coastal waters.

Thunderstorms may produce small hail...gusty winds...rough seas and the possibility of short-lived waterspouts.


Another storm system has a chance of producing another round of precipitation to the southland late in the weekend.

At this time... the precipitation will the late weekend storm will be on the light side.
