Hot holiday week for the southland
Hot temperatures...especially inland areas this week.
Temperatures are expected to approach the 110 degree mark in the valleys of the IE and in the 100s in the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys by the Fourth of July.
For mid-city Los Angeles... it appears the hottest days will occur on the Fourth and on Thursday...when temperatures will be around 90 during the afternoon hours.
Even the immediate coastal areas will see temperatures around 80 degrees.
NOAA's National Weather Service has posted Excessive Heat Watches during the afternoon hours Tuesday through Friday for portions of the southland.
Remember... don't leave children or pets in cars! Also check on the elderly...especially if they don't have air conditioning.
