Off shore wind event late Friday night through Saturday evening
High pressure will build build early this weekend over the Great Basin area of Nevada. This will result in a weak to moderate off shore flow over the southland... beginning late Friday night and lasting through Saturday evening.The strongest of the winds will likely occur through and below passes and canyons... in these locations gusts to around 40 mph are likely.
Elsewhere... locally breezy conditions at times (15 mph or so).
The NWS has Red Flag Warnings in effect from late Friday night through early Saturday evening over most mountain and valley locations of the southland and Fire Weather Watches for the Hollywood and Malibu Hills.
Also... Wind Advisories have been issued for the mountains and valleys of Ventura and Los Angeles counties from late this evening through early Saturday afternoon.
