Gusty winds over the mountains/deserts through Friday afternoon

Gusty winds will continue across a good portion of the southland on Friday. The strongest winds occur during the morning hours and over the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties (where gusts to over 60 mph are possible).

Elsewhere... gusts to around 45 mph possible over the Los Angeles county coastal and valley areas (especially through and below passes and canyons) and in the valleys of the Inland Empire, the southern mountain ranges and lower deserts.

Winds will subside during the afternoon hours on Friday.

Over the weekend into the first part of the coming week... look for fair weather along with occasional breezy to locally windy periods.
