Periods of rain/mountain snows through Sunday

Through this weekend...
Moist/unstable southwest flow has developed over the southland.
This will result in periods of rain and mountains snows through the upcoming weekend.
Hourly rainfall rates at times... coastal plain/valleys may total up to 1/2" with locally higher amounts along south facing mountain slopes and foothills.
The potential exists for isolated thunderstorms over the coastal waters, coastal plain and valleys off and on through the period.
Thunderstorms will have the potential of producing... local heavy rains, small hail and a chance of waterspouts over the coastal waters.
In the higher elevations... periods of heavy snows will hourly snowfall rates exceeding 1".
Snow combined with gusty winds will produce blowing and drifting snows that will reduce visibilities to zero at times.
If your plan on driving in the mountains... besure to take extreme caution. Check road conditions... before departing.
