Storm system to linger across the southland Monday

Doppler Est. Storm Totals

Cold low pressure will move through the southland Monday producing scattered rain showers with snow showers above 4,000 feet.

The heaviest and most widespread coverage of showers will occur during the morning hours... then will diminish during the afternoon hours.

Hourly rainfall rates at times (coastal/valley locations) will be around 1/4 to 1/3 of an inch.
Higher amounts (up to 3/4") over some favored valleys and foothill locations.

As for snow accumulations over the mountains... 3 to 6".
Falling snow combined with gusty winds will produce areas of zero visibility in blowing/drifting snows.

Gusty winds will continue to blow across the southland Monday... with the strongest wind gusts over the mountains/deserts.

Gusts in these areas may reach 45 mph at times.

Elsewhere... coastal/valley areas... gusts to around 30 mph are likely to occur.

Looking ahead...
Another but weak storm system is due in on Wednesday with potentially "Strong" next weekend.

STAY TUNED!!!
