Strong Pacific storm expected this weekend
Through Friday...
Weak disturbances will move through region through Friday.
Expected partly to mostly cloudy skies with scattered to numerous showers with snow over the mountains and higher foothills.
Heavy snows are possible...with areas of blowing and drifting snow.
At the lower elevations... coastal plain/valleys... Locally heavy rain showers are possible through Friday along with isolated thunderstorms.
Thunderstorms may produce a waterspout along the coastal waters.
Over the weekend...
...A strong storm system is forecast for bring widespread (heavy) rains and snows to the southland.
At this time... rainfall amounts of 2 to 4" are possible over the coastal plain and valleys... with higher amounts along favored foothills and lower coastal slopes.
Heavy snows are likely over the mountains with near white out conditions possible in blowing snows.
