Wet and windy weather on the way!
A significant rain and wind event for the southland...Wettest since January 2005?
...A series of wet Pacific storm system will begin impacting the region Thursday afternoon and continue through Sunday.
Lastest rainfall projections indicate the following...
Coastal Plain/Valleys... 2 to 5"
Mountains... 4 to 8" with amounts locally over 10" on some favored
mountain slopes.
These rains will likely lead to flooding and mudslides... especially in recent burn areas.
Along with the rains will be gusty winds... the potential does exist for damaging wind gusts in
some locations of the southland.
Snow levels will initially be quite high but will likely lower with the colder third storm system Sunday morning.
Snowfall amounts are still uncertain.
