A Whole Meteorological Swizzle Stick of weather
Strong high pressure will continue to produce strong and gusty east/northeasterly winds across the southland through Wednesday morning.
The strongest of the winds will occur over the mountains...and in the valleys just below the passes and canyons.
In some areas... gusts to around 70 mph are likely to occur.
Later in the week into early next week... a major change in the current weather regime... several storm system will move across the region... these storms will likely be responsible for producing rain... heavy at times along with snow in the mountains and strong and gusty winds to the southland.
This could be the heaviest rainfall event since December of 2005.
