Magnitude: 6.7 | Duration: 15 seconds

Epicenter: About 17.5 miles beneath the San Fernando Valley along a hidden fault.

Aftershocks: 1,000s (many M4.0 to M5.0 Range) occurred during the next several weeks.

Deaths: 72 | Injuries: +9,000 (+1,500 were seriously injured)

Damage: $44 Billion. Around 12,500 structures had moderate to severe damage...leaving thousands of people temporarily homeless. Damage occurred on several freeways serving the Greater Los Angeles area...including 2 bridges on the 10 Freeway west of Downtown L.A. Collapsed, 3 bridges on 118 Freeway Collapsed, 2 bridges on the 5 Freeway at the 14 Freeway Interchanged Collapsed, 2 bridges on the 5 Freeway (Gavin Canyon Bridges) Collapsed.
